Provost kicks against cultism, violence BY EMEKA ONWUDINJO The Provost, Dr Tessy Okoli, has advised all the College students to avoid cultism, cohabitation  and lawlessness if they intend to graduate successfully from the College. Dr Okoli gave the advice during an unscheduled visit to Schools during the sensitization workshop held in the College on Monday 29th July, 2019. Stressing that the College maintains zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice, sex trade, the Provost warned that students that engage in such acts endanger their future. She warned the students that vices could lead to their rustication or expulsion from the College. She further charged the students to be serious with their studies and be morally upright and avoid association with corrupt students, drug abuse, sexual misbehaviour, violence, examination malpractice and other vices. According to her, such negative behaviours could lead to expulsion from the College.”

Ishimiri Ogbunka Global Foundation donates bus shelter, 2 motor bikes to Ogbunka community By O’star Eze A non-governmental organisation, Ishimiri Ogbunka Global Foundation, recently, gifted the people of Agbala village, Ogbunka in Orumba South local government area of Anambra state with their first ultramodern bus stop. The foundation, championed by Engr. Richard Nzodilichukwu Okonkwo, also handed over 2 new motor bikes to the community’s town crier and youth leader. A public address system was given to a repentant youth for evangelism. One other person also received N45, 000; five persons got N29,000 each and another five individual got N5000 each. Tragedy in Onitsha at Obodoukwu ( TRAZAN) as Trailer crushed three Keke and all the people inside it. Earlier today in Onitsha, Obodoukwu ( TRAZAN), Trailer felled on top of three Keke and crushed every living soul inside them to death.

According to a post on Facebook, the tragic incident occured in Igogoro, Enugu state. An hausa man was called to draw off excess water from a soak away pit and he ignorantly took a generator set in to the soak away pit with him.  When the fumes from the generator became too much, he couldn't find his way out. So the residents called on able young guys to come help the Hausa man out of the soak away pit. When the first man entered the soak away pit, he couldn't come out, same with the second and on and on till all seven died in pursuit of each other's rescue.

Missing Ear: IGP Clears Dr. Umeh of Ritual Accusations Four Years After By Izunna Okafor The Federal Government through the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has absolved the Medical Director of the Victory Children’s Hospital, Onitsha, Dr. Oliver Nnamdi Umeh, his staff and the hospital of any involvement in the death of a new born baby and daughter of one Mr. Solomon Igwe in his hospital. The clearance report from the IGP obtained by newsmen cleared Dr Umeh, his hospital and staff of mutilating the dead baby’s ear, and pointed out that the dead baby’s ear was eaten up by rodents, hence the ‘serrated edges of the defect left behind’ according to two autopsy reports. It pointed out as well that histology report showed that the defect in the ear arose after death. AIF Media gathered that Arch Okelo Madukaife, who is the state publicity secretary of the party is leading a rebellious group against the state chairman, Mr Basil Ejidike. Police Recruitment : 1423 Candidates Screened In Anambra State. Total number of one thousand four hundred and twenty three applicants shortlisted for screening for police recruitment exercise in Anambra state have been screened. Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Haruna Mahamed said that the exercise is going on successfully at the Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center Awka. He stated that the Police Commissioner representing South East and organized private sector Police Service Commission Dr Jombo Nkem Jombo-Ofo visited the recruitment center in company of the secretary to Anambra State Government Professor Solo Chukwulobelu for on the spot assessment. The Hausa Community in Nnewi have finally gotten a land in Nnewi. The said land is located along Ugwu Okwenu (Ugwu Akpati Ozo) road, Umudim Nnewi. It will be recalled that earlier this year, a report about the plans by the Hausa Community in Nnewi to buy a land to build their own market and burial ground, where members can do their business and bury their d**d loved ones was published. In the report, Alhaji Mohammed Diya, who is the Chief of Hausa Community in Nnewi said that they have met with Igwe of Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, several times, asking for land, but he is yet to grant them their request. The Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) has started taking delivery of the first batch of the procured 22,150 lockers and 22,150 chairs for primary school children and 1,228 tables, 1,228 arm chairs and 2,456 armless chairs for the teachers, recently approved by Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration. Other learning tools approved for conducive learning environment include 1130 marker boards for teaching and 1,960 ceiling fans. These are in addition to the ongoing construction/reconstruction of 263 classroom blocks for primary education. It is worthy of note that 589 primary and junior secondary school blocks have been constructed and renovated in the last four years of the present administration.
