TRADITIONAL RULERS OF AWKUZU, NIMO COMMUNITIES RECEIVE CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION.

Awkuzu Community ends 14 Years of Traditional Rulership tussle as Prof. Sir. Charles Mmaduegbuna Anikweze (Nnamenyi III of Awkuzu) receives Certificate of Recognition from the Government of Anambra State.

Until his present position, Prof. Anikweze is a Professor of Education Mearsurement and Evaluation at the Faculty of Education, Nassarawa State University, Keffi, Nassarawa State, Nigeria.

Similarly, HRH Igwe Maximus Ikechukwu Oliobi (Owelle Nimo) also received a Certificate of Recognition. His certification brought to an end, two Years of Igweship tussle in Nimo.

In opening remarks, Chief Greg Obi, informed that the Government of Anambra State has remained resolute in resolving age long vacuums in many communities in the State. He assured that, the government will continue to address the issues in line with the stipulations of the law.

While advising the new Igwes, the traditional rulers of Nteje and Abagana, thanked the Governor of Anambra State, for his kindness in commitment to resolving the traditional rulership across communities. They admonished them to always toe the path of peace in their various communities.

In his remarks, His Excellency, sympathized with the entire Nimo Community over the sad incidence in the killing of Late Anthony Igboka (the President General og Nimo), he reminded that, as he has promised, he will stop at nothing to getting the remaining suspects that are currently on the run. He expressed his admiration over the manner in which Awkuzu and Nimo communities resolved their issues internally. He however said that, his administration will continue to strengthen the traditional institutions as they remain a vital element in rural development in Anambra State.

Present in the event are; the Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Uche Okafor (Wiper), the Bishop Emeritus of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Dr. Maxwell Anikwenwa and wife, the Traditional Ruler of Nteje Community, HRH Igwe Mbamalu Okeke (Obi of Abagana), HRH Igwe Rowland Odegbo (Aborgu II of Nteje), the Honourable Commissioner for Traditional and Chieftaincy Affaires, Hon. Chief Greg Obi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Town Union and Chieftaincy Matters, Barr. Mrs. VeraQueen Okonkwo, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightment, Mr. C~Don Adinuba, Member Representing Njikoka II State Constituency, Hon. Peter Ibida, the Transition Chairman of Oyi Local Government Area, Engr. Dr. Nwadiogbu, the Transition Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Ozor George and many other dignitaries.

This is historic.

Bishop Ikeakor Flays State Governors Over Rising Debt Profile By Emeka Odogwu The Anglican Bishop of Amichi diocese, Most Revd Ephraim Ikeakor has raised alarm over the rising debt profile in Nigeria.
