FERMA SAVE OUR SOUL AT EKWULOBIA_OKO ROAD, I BEG NOW?

*  Pot holes cause heavy traffic jam

* Natives, Polytechnic staff, students cry for help

The state of  Ekwulobia - Oko- Umunze road is now horrible road users lament the deplorable state.

The worst areas are Ekwulobia roundabout adjoining areas, FCMB axis of Oko road, Federal Polytechnic Oko main gate and Total filling station axis of Oko.

A federal polytechnic is located in Oko, home to former Vice President, the late Dr. Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme.

In the past, remedial measures on these areas have been shoddy and nothing to write home about. The remedial measures almost failed immediately after work. Road users are really helpless At the moment, the the situation is pathetic as the failed  areas have been abandoned by FERMA leaving road users in pains and  untold hardships.

The road is  currently filled with pot holes  making driving a tedious task. To avoid the pot holes, road users attempt using the smother spots thereby  causing more confusion. This is a recipe to road crashes.

Worrisome is the collapsed section of the drainage which is encroaching on the road. With the rains coming strong, it's a matter of time the road will finally cut and there will be no movement.

The consequences of this deplorable state  are a breach of security, huge loss of manhours and physical and psychological pains. These are in addition to financial losses due to vehicular damage.

Many vehicles break down due to the pot holes  and this helps to add salt to injury.  Some vehicles with punctured tyres are simply abandoned on the roads.

Any vox pop of road users ends in a clarion call: That FERMA and Federal Ministry of Works should do something urgent to avert disaster and alleviate the sufferings of Old Aguata People and Federal Polytechnic, Oko community.
